Join Learned Power

Learned Power

To Join our clan.  Please read the information belowWe war frequently, so we rarely accept in game applications during war.  Please e-mail us at learnedpower@gmail.comInclude a picture of your profile including your troop levels and a photo of your war base in your e-mail.

The best part about our clans is that we have great people. This is an international community of adults who have fun playing clash, are supportive in war, and play the game to have fun (but we are serious about winning wars).

Learned Power

  • Clan tag: #Q2QVYOY
  • War Frequency: 3 times a week
  • You will be asked your age and location when you join. We will also ask you to agree to the clan rules.
  • Normal War Schedule: War search on Sunday at 3:00pm EST/8:00pm CET. War search on Tuesday and Thursday shortly after the end of the previous war.
  • Recruiting TH7 (with lvl2 dragons for war) through TH11
  • War Record161-33
  • Clan Level:9

We are a war clan which means we are looking for new members who have a war focus. Your upgrades should be designed to help you improve in war and you should be willing to use three star war strategies. The clan has great people who help each other. Obviously, failing to do war attacks or being inactive in the clan will get you kicked.

We use a structured approach to war with members calling bases on www.clashtrack.com. We want our war members to build an army and plan an attack for a specific base without worrying about someone taking the base before he/she can attack.

We have some basic rules, but mostly don’t be a jerk and work to help the clan.

Clan Rules:

  • Adult clan. 18+ only
  • Fair play. No modders or past-modders.
  • 3 star attacks only unless otherwise instructed (only exception is th10+s)
  • Must join the the clan BAND for communication and be contactable during war.  Band is a chat app similar to whatsapp or kik.
  • Claim your base on clastrack, then attack as soon as possible, so that clan mates aren't waiting to attack.
  • Min req TH7 with lvl2 dragons.
  • We always aim to 3* all enemy th8s and below, so our th8/7s should attack as soon as possible so that we can plan cleanup.
  • You must use both your attacks in war - always. If we have an obvious win, practice attacks are encouraged. That is preferred over loot attacks.
  • Donate whenever you can. Don't be afraid to request. No donation ratios. Max troops only for war.

We have a great clan of people. We get along and support each other. There is lively banter from time to time, but it is all in good fun. You can see some of our war recaps here.

Please understand that we are a war clan. While we are easy going, we do have performance expectations. If you do not plan your attacks, do not have a sound strategy, or have consistently poor attacks, you may be asked to practice attacks using friendly challenges before participating in war.

Doping in Clash

When people talk about cheating in Clash, they normally are talking about mods, scripts, and other forms of game play assistance.  How many people out there use performance enhancing drugs to help them while playing clash.  I test that theory by drinking bourbon while doing a war recap - ok..I don't really test that theory, I just drink bourbon.  Here is the war recap for our war against Iran Amme.  This was our 16th win in a row.  Our current war will be difficult as they have a tremendous advantage - like an extra 5 TH9s over us.  Our war has started well, but we have a big hill to climb.  Enjoy this war recap and victory and let's drink to getting one more (whoops - I'm a bit ahead on the drinking).

Catching Up on War Recaps

Even though we talked about it, our win streak is still going.  We are at 15.  Our last war with Let Me Think was a good one.  They could have easily beaten us.  Hopefully, we can war them again as our guys learned a great deal.  Our current war is against another Persian clan.  I'm not sure why we hit so meany clans from Iran, but I'm guessing clash must be popular there.  Enjoy the recaps.

Base Beat

We have a new section to our blog called Base Beat.  Gadi has a well known Base Beat portion of his website, but we are going to develop our own list that also includes TH8 bases.  Gadi has more TH9 and TH10 bases on his website. You can look above on the right hand side to see our Base Beat list or click here.

Ostemide spent time researching this list, but we can add to it over time.  If you want to add a base to this list, please e-mail a picture of the base and a link to a three star attack on the base to learnedpower@gmail.com.

Feel Better About Your Clash Addicition

So you think you have a clash addiction, but what are the signs?  You spend lot of time playing the game, you play on the toilet, you ignore your significant other, you play at work, or maybe you purchased a new phone or tablet just for clash.  I did purchase a new tablet that I use for all my war attacks, but I use it for much more as well - clash just put the purchase over the top.

One sign that you are addicted to clash is that you spend money on gems.  Many people are proud that they have never spent any money on gems.  I have two accounts - one is totally free, but the other I did spend $100 on gems about 6 months ago (I'm a value shopper so I went for the best value).

For anyone that wants to feel better about their clash addiction I give you Clashheads vs. Hebrew Legends.  These are two well known war clans that just matched in war (one video says Clashheads hunted Hebrew Legends, but I have no idea).  What is interesting is what happened after the match - both sides gemmed 15 accounts from TH9 to TH10.  That is 30 total accounts gemmed to TH10 for one war.  Of course that means gemming the Town Hall and at least the spell factory.  I don't know how much money was spent on this war, but I've heard estimates from $2k to $15k.  For gems for one war!! Below are videos from each side:

Shh...Don't talk about win streaks

We have a 12 war win streak going and soon to be lucky 13.  Of course, all win streaks come to an end and ours will too.  For many clans 12 wins in a row isn't much to speak of, but it is a record for our clan.  We continue to get a little better each war.  We are planning to start doing some arranged wars soon.  Unfortunately, we attempted a clan scrimmage, but we didn't match each other.  An arranged war likely be more difficult and more even than the matches we get through Supercell.  Hopefully, Supercell will make the process of arranged wars a little easier so we don't have to worry about not matching up with our chosen opponent.

Here is the latest war recap video.  I think this is Lud's first six star war as a TH9.  Several members had six star wars in this one and our T10s defended three attacks.

War Weights, TH 8.5, and Rushing

Like most war clans, we don't accept rushed accounts.  Invariably, we get people requesting to join who say they are not rushed - but they are.  Over time, we have become more and more strict on what we consider rushed - so what the heck does that mean.

For some people, rushed means if you did not completely upgrade all your troops, spells, and defenses from your previous town hall level.  Others viewed rushed accounts as people who upgraded the useful troops, spells, and defenses, but anything that is not useful can be ignored (ie goblins, valks, etc).  Of course, those troops can come in handy and we have requests for valks in war clan castles every war.  While there is definitely some wiggle room, I'm an advocate of completing everything.  Let's quickly talk about the different town hall levels and what might be acceptable.

Up to town hall 6, I think it might be fine to rush a bit.  Those levels go quickly and you will war with giants, archers, barbarians, and wizards mostly.  You don't have what are considered war troops at higher levels.  At these levels, maxing your spells, giants,  archer, and barracks will probably help you as you move forward.

Town hall 7 is where any rushing needs to stop.  For a war clan, you will want to get dragons as soon as possible.  This means level 9 barracks.  You will want to upgrade them as soon as possible.  Our clan requires town hall 7s to have two barracks that can product dragons to join.  Even with level 1 dragons you can three star any other town hall 7.  Once you have done that you can start farming and getting ready to upgrade to town hall 8.

To upgrade to town hall 8, you should have level 2 dragons, level 2 hogs, level 4 wizards, a level 5 king, and max spells.  These will be your primary war units at TH8.  As soon as possible, get your dragons to level 3 and your hogs to level 4.  If you get hogs to level 4 early, you will be a great asset to your clan because you can three star max TH8s even though your war weight will not be much more than a TH7.

At town hall 9, war weights become really important because they can vary a great deal based on how you upgrade.  A low to mid town hall 7 has a war weight of around 37-39.  A low to mid TH8 is about 46-49 and a max TH8 is 54.  An entry level TH9 with level 5 queen, 220 camp space and a level 10 king with no new defenses has a war weight of 57.  That is closer in weight to a max TH8 than a max TH8 is to a mid level TH8, but with much stronger offense.  Once a TH9 starts putting down xbows, the war weight enter the mid 60s (64-66).  A max TH9 should be around 75.  You can see the variability within a TH level is much greater at TH9 than TH8.  This is why many clans promote the TH8.5 strategy.

Cold September has a good guide explaining what TH8.5 is and how to do it.  The idea is that your defenses contribute more to your war weight than your offense.  If you upgrade your offense before upgrading defense, you will help you clan get better war matches.  If you upgrade your defense before upgrading offenses, you will attract higher level TH9s with more advanced offenses that you may not be able to three star.  There is also at TH9.5 strategy where new TH10s avoid putting down inferno towers.

This was meant as a look at war weights and why rushing is bad for your clan.  You can see that as you move up, rushing becomes more troublesome.  Starting at TH7 you should become aware of how you upgrade affects your war weight and your ability to three star other town halls on your level.  Upgrading offense over defense will help you succeed in war and help your clan.
